Completeness In Christ

 Completeness in Christ

What does it mean to be truly complete? According to the Cambridge Dictionary, completeness is "the quality of being whole, with nothing missing." Yet in our world of constant striving and searching, many of us wonder: Is my life truly complete today?

The Bible gives us a profound answer. In Colossians 2:9-15, the Apostle Paul reminds us that "in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him." Christ Himself is the source of true completeness, and through Him, we lack nothing.

What is Christ to Us?

First and foremost, Christ is the Light of the World. In John 8:12, Jesus says, "He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." In a world clouded by confusion and sin, Christ brings clarity, purpose, and direction.

He is also our Saviour. As Romans 1:16 proclaims, "the gospel of Christ... is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes." Salvation isn't found through human effort but through Christ alone.

Christ declares Himself to be "the way, the truth, and the life" in John 14:6. He is the only way to God, the only truth worth building our lives on, and the only life that brings everlasting fulfilment.

Christ is the Completeness of Christianity

All the fullness of God is found in Christ. (Colossians 2:9-10) Christianity isn’t about rituals or rules; it’s about a living relationship with Christ. In Him, we are spiritually complete, lacking nothing.

Our redemption—our salvation and forgiveness—is fully accomplished by Christ’s sacrifice. As Romans 8:3 states, what the law could not achieve because of human weakness, God did by sending His own Son. We are not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19).

This redemption is an act of pure grace. (Ephesians 1:6-7) It is a gift, not something we could ever earn. Christ’s sacrificial love demonstrates what true love is: a love that forgives, redeems, and adopts us into God’s family. (Galatians 4:4-5)

Things to Remember:

  • Jesus’ sacrificial love defines real love.

  • God's forgiveness outweighs all our sins.

  • Freedom from sin is the only goal worth pursuing.

  • Life may be beyond our control, but Christ is always in control.

Our Peace and Comfort are Complete in Christ

Christ brings peace that surpasses understanding. In Romans 14:17-18, the kingdom of God is described as "righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit."

He is our Peacemaker (Ephesians 2:14) and our Comforter (2 Corinthians 1:4-5). Even amid tribulations, Christ gives a comfort that no earthly situation can take away.

Jesus assures us that those who mourn will be comforted (Matthew 5:4). Though happiness is fleeting, true peace in Christ is unshakable.

Things to Remember:

  • Learn to survive stormy weather; calm yourself, not the storm.

  • Worry robs today's peace; trust God instead.

  • Focus on your blessings, not your problems.

  • One bad chapter does not define your whole story.

Our Labours and Toils are Complete in Christ

In our work and service, Christ assures us that our labour is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58) Whatever we do, we are to do it in the name of the Lord. (Colossians 3:17

Even as we labour, we are called to be humble: acknowledging that we are merely doing our duty to God. (Luke 17:10) A quiet, humble heart observes better and judges less. Great people are hard on themselves, while small people are hard on others.

Things to Remember:

  • Don’t wait for life to happen — step out and live.

  • Embrace life’s sweetness and bitterness alike.

  • Surround yourself with people who push you to be better.

Our Triumph is Complete in Christ

Christ not only secures our redemption, but He also leads us to victory. 2 Corinthians 2:14 reminds us that God "always leads us in triumph in Christ."

In Him, we are more than conquerors. (Romans 8:37-39) No hardship, no force, and no circumstance can separate us from His love.

Even when the journey feels difficult—when the road to heaven seems like hell—we can endure because Christ strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13) Our sufficiency is not of ourselves but from God. (2 Corinthians 3:4-5

Things to Remember:

  • Do not fear; the greatest One is on your side.

  • Sometimes, our failures come from within, not from others.

  • Attempts to avoid pain often create greater pain.

  • Keep your focus firmly on Christ.

In conclusion, completeness is not found in accomplishments, relationships, possessions, or self-improvement. Completeness is found only in Christ. In Him, we have peace, comfort, purpose, redemption, and victory. Let us live every day rooted in this truth: We are complete in Christ.
